Production

Documentary:

Above you can see the first stages of my documentary, after filming the clips that I will be wanting in the documentary I have imported them into iMovie and they are now sitting in the events page.

Above shows all of the clips in it in separate events folders which total around 1 hours 15 minutes of filming, which is cut down into a 5 minute documentary.

Above is the next stage that I went through, as can be seen I have dragged and split the different clips from in the events page, Once i have chosen which sections of the clips that I have taken and cut them down to the parts I want I needed to link them together with Transitions which can be seen below:

Above you can see all of the different transitions that I could choose from, I decided when editing my documentary that I would use a range of all of these transitions so that there is variety and not just the same transition every single time.

At the beginning of the documentary I have a globe spinning to Jersey as the destination for the documentary, I managed to find a clever section on iMovie which was able to create this for me, above shows all the different maps that I could use, I believed this was a good way to start the documentary so decided to add it in.

Throughout my documentary I have a few titles to each section and the beginning of the documentary, I have added these on straight from iMovie which can be seen above, I once again decided to choose a selection to add variety to the documentary.

Above is the way in which I added my music into the documentary, after creating a 5 minute repeating jingle in Garageband I exported it into iTunes which meant i was able to grab it straight from iMovie and into the documentary.

After I had spent many hours tweaking and fine tuning the documentary as well as I could i exported the documentary through Quicktime in the 'Share' area of iMovie.

Newspaper Advert:

(sorry its on Youtube, blogger wasn't allowing uploading)

Above is a screenflow Video of how i created the newspaper advert, this shows the steps I went through to create the advert and what parts of photoshop I used.

This screenflow video is a good way of showing how I have used photoshop to create my advert.

Above is an image of photoshop, to the right hand said above you can see all of the laters with the effects that I have put onto the advert, at first only the bottom two layers are turned on to show.

Above is an image showing how I started off in photoshop with just my background photo, this shows that I have used the magicwand tool in the toolbox and changed the intensity of the wand, once I have got this right I have managed to magicwand the background sea and sky out of the photo so I can put a better background in myself, I have also managed to reduce the intensity and delete the inside of the climbers body around his arms, which I think is very good.

The next stage was the rest of the background, as you can see I have used a gradient tool which is in the toolbox/pallet to merge the black and blue colours towards the climbers, I really like this are it brings out the contrast between the cliff/climber and the gradient colour.

The next part was the title text, I didn't want one of the generic fonts that are used over and over again so i went online and found RockBiter text, which looks somewhat like rock, after installing the text onto the mac i used it in photoshop and thought it went really well with the rest of the advert.

After adding some more text with a backdrop for the date that it is on television and some quotes I finished my Newspaper Advert which I am very happy with how it finished.

Above is all of the layers and effects that are on my photoshop advert, this is a good example to show how I built up the advert.

Double Page Spread:

Above is the screen flow of how i have added the photo's onto the DPS and then how I have decided to change them.

Above you can see the final Double Page Spread, I am really happy with the quality of how this has come out and it has been finished to how I would have wanted it.

Above you can see the InDesign Links box which shows all the difference images that I have put into in design.

Above you can see how I have used the margins of the page to have the typing inside, a big title of 'Climbing The Adrenaline Rush in the same RockBiter text as the advert takes up a good proportion of the top of the page.

Above shows how I have angled the photos that are on the double page spread, with a slight angle either way, a stroke behind and a backdrop the way I did this was:

As you can see above I have clicked the backdrop on once highlighting the photo I want to have the backdrop, this will simple just put a black backdrop behind the image to make it look like the image is sticking out of the page.

Above is the next stage I took which was to rotate the image slightly, just click on the tool that can be seen above and then choose the angle I wanted on the image.

The last part of how I did it was to create the white 'box' around the image on the edges, using Stroke i changed the 'Weight' of the lines to 5pt which gave a good outline
